Lydia Percia Rattan Receives New Award of Mary Anne Fox Top Female Entrepreneur

Mary Anne Fox Top Female Entrepreneur

Lydia Percia Rattan, Continental East Development’s Senior Vice President, made history as she became the first recipient of the Mary Anne Fox Top Female Entrepreneur Award. She received the award Wednesday, November 10, at the Spirit of the Entrepreneur’s first in-person award show since 2019. The evening was held at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside for the 19th annual gala black-tie event and celebrated a “new era of innovation.”

Lydia’s Spirit of the Entrepreneur Nomination

Lydia was nominated for the Spirit of the Entrepreneur Award along with over 250 other nominees throughout the Inland Empire. Of those 250 nominees, they selected Lydia and 34 other semi-finalists. Of those semi-finalists, 27 were chosen as finalists to compete for top entrepreneurs in their respective categories. Lydia was a nominee up for the General Entrepreneur award. However, unbeknown to her, she received an entirely different award.

Mary Anne Fox Top Female Entrpreneur

This year, the Spirit of the Entrepreneur introduced a new award: The Mary Anne Fox Top Female Entrepreneur Award. The award was presented to Lydia by the award’s namesake, Mary Anne Fox of Fox Transportation. Its introduction intended “to encourage, support, and celebrate women’s entrepreneurship more widely.”

Lydia is humbled and honored to be the award’s first recipient and considered among the best entrepreneurs in the Inland Empire. As she looks back over the years, she learned the dedication and determination it takes to run a business at a young age.

“To me, being an entrepreneur means taking risks, never giving up, and working to make our community a better place,” Lydia said.

Lydia’s Success

Lydia sees this win as something she could not have achieved without those lessons, the support of her husband and business partner, Al Rattan, friends, family, and all of the wonderful employees that make up her company. She also encouraged young entrepreneurs not to give up on their dreams. In addition, she also emphasized the importance of being prepared to work harder than ever but knowing that it will be worth it in the end.

Lydia embodies the ideal qualities of an entrepreneur – bravery, vision, fortitude, and generosity. Since 2009, when she and Al co-founded the company, CED has grown into a full-suite real estate development firm. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge in residential and commercial real estate. Lydia’s led the company’s success in developing Continental Medical Plaza, Renaissance Village Rancho Belago, Renaissance Village Murrieta, and Continental Villages. The combination of all projects brought 2,000 new jobs to Riverside County. Lydia is also dedicated to supporting charities and local schools like the Alzheimer’s Association and the Boys & Girls Club. These reasons and so many others genuinely showcase Lydia as having an entrepreneurial spirit, and we could not be prouder of her in this achievement.
