Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards

35 Semi-Finalists

The program considered over 250 nominees before selecting 35 semi-finalists, including Lydia. On September 30, these top 35 entrepreneurial business leaders attended a reception where they had the opportunity to interact with each other as well as the judging panel. Afterward, the judges selected the 27 finalists to compete for the six different awards categories. Lydia is a finalist in the General Entrepreneur category, along with three other entrepreneurs from the Inland Empire. They will announce the winners at the 19th annual black-tie gala at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, California on November 10, 2021. All proceeds from the awards ceremony support the Spirit of the Entrepreneur Scholarship fund and the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at CSU San Bernadino. With its nationally ranked entrepreneurship program, CSUSB develops and nurtures aspiring entrepreneurs that will contribute to the future growth and sustainability of the Inland Empire.

Lydia’s Entrepreneurial Experience

Lydia embodies the ideal qualities of an entrepreneur – bravery, vision, fortitude, and generosity. Her father imparted fundamental business values from a young age while she worked in the family business. Lydia established Brec Vending of Riverside before pursuing her passion and becoming a California licensed real estate broker. In 2009, she co-founded CED with Al Rattan. Since its founding in 2009, CED has grown into a full-suite real estate development firm headquartered in Murrieta, CA. Lydia has a wealth of knowledge and experience in both commercial and residential real estate.

In addition, through Lydia’s leadership and the development of Continental Medical Plaza, Renaissance Village Rancho Belago, Renaissance Village Murrieta, and most recently Continental Villages, 2,000 new jobs were created for Riverside County. Lydia is also dedicated to supporting local schools and charities like the Boys & Girls Club and the Alzheimer’s Association. These reasons and so many others genuinely showcase Lydia as having an entrepreneurial spirit, and we could not be prouder of this achievement.
